RETURN FROM INJURY
While sidelined with a foot injury in 2019 a doctor told her that she would have to end her career. However, she was persuaded to continue athletics by her husband Ryan. "My husband was really good and sat there with me and said, 'Look, running is more to you than competition. You don't just do it to win a medal, you also love it and you do it because it's truly your passion'. He said, 'What's the alternative? Are you going to just give up and never run again, is that the alternative?' And I thought about it, and it was. You either quit, or you keep going. That really put it into perspective. It wasn't the end of the world. There were other ways around it, and I just found another way and made my body stronger than ever over a longer period of time to be here now in February [2020], in the Olympic year, in the best shape of my life."
