FRIENDLY RIVALRY
He trains alongside fellow Australian decathlete Ashley Moloney, with both athletes coached by Eric Brown. "If you'd asked me a few years ago I would have said I'm a bit of a mentor for him [Moloney]. Now that he has started whupping me on the track I'd say we have more of a rivalry, but it's very friendly. It's a really good friendship and mutually beneficial. We push each other in sessions and we keep each other honest, and it's going to work for both of us. A lot of banter gets thrown around and it motivates us to step up the plate."
