She took up steeplechase in 2015 after deciding to try the discipline at an event she was competing at. "I was at a competition where there was both a regular 1000m and a 3000m steeplechase. I didn't feel like competing in the 1000m so I used the steeplechase as an excuse to not have to compete in the 1000m. It all started from there."
