BREAKING COACH'S RECORD
At the 2018 National Championships in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, he set a national record of 8.23m in the long jump, surpassing the previous record of 8.13m that had been held by his coach Wendell Williams since 1999. "I always heckle him, saying, 'I am the man now'. It is a good feeling knowing that I am coached by the past record holder. He instilled [the ability] in me to break the record." (teamtto.org, 11 Jul 2019; newsday.co.tt, 25 Jun 2018; CupofJoe Caribbean YouTube channel, 28 Jun 2018)

PARENTS
His mother Janice died of cancer in 2014. "Everything I have done thus far is dedicated to her. She was my number one supporter. When I go to compete I always go with her in my mind. I still wear her wedding ring, so that just goes to show how much she is with me still." His father Henson also died in December 2019. STUDIES
He has studied to be an accountant through the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants [ACCA]. "My mother was an accountant, and I wanted to be just like her. Growing up, I never wanted to be a professional athlete. My dream was to be an accountant." (trinidadexpress.com, 03 Aug 2020)
