General Interest

General
UPBRINGING
She and her seven siblings were mainly brought up by just their mother. "Luckily Massachusetts has really great services for low-income families. We had food, and we had a roof over our head. It was very hard for my mom to get by with so many children. I really respect her for that. Maybe sometimes we didn't have the nicest places we were living in, but all of us got by. I felt the stigma around my family life when I was in high school, and I was really ashamed to ask for help for things. I wish I had done more of it. Because when I did ask, people were always willing. It's hard to know to ask for help when you're a 14- or 15-year-old student and all the other students have so much direction from their parents." (runnersworld.com, 15 Feb 2021)

FUTHER EDUCATION
In 2019 she completed a master's degree in higher education administration at the University of Massachusetts in the United States of America. (Twitter profile, 04 Jul 2021; runnersworld.com, 15 Feb 2021)
