ARMY CAREER
He was born in Kenya, and came to the United States of America in 2007 to attend Iowa State University. After graduating from Iowa State in 2012, he enlisted in the US Army in 2013, which ultimately enabled him to gain citizenship. He initially gave up running after joining the army, but after a year off he picked it back up again through the Army Ten Miler race. "My career at Iowa State was good but I didn't run well my last year so I thought that was my last race." He serves in the army as a financial management technician and is part of the army's World Class Athlete Program.
