INSPIRATION
She has a tattoo on her wrist of her father's signature. In 2014 he died as she competed in the 1500m of the winter regional championships in Lisbon, Portugal. He had told her he would shout her split time at the 1000m mark but she never heard his voice. He had suffered a heart attack, and when she crossed the finish line she saw him on the ground surrounded by a medical team. His death motivated her to move from Portugal to study in United States of America. "I feel like life is too short and we don't even realise it. It's my big motivation.
