In October 2019 she was involved in a quad bike accident in Doha, Qatar, after she competed at the world championships. She needed several stitches to her chin. (expressen.se, 05 Oct 2019; Instagram profile, 08 Oct 2019)

In the European autumn of 2015 she became ill with a virus, and had to be hospitalised for several nights. It took her a few weeks to recover and return to training. (expressen.se, 27 Nov 2015)

In 2009 she began experiencing problems with her knee, which forced her to take some time off from competition. She did not make a full recovery until 2014. (expressen.se, 27 Nov 2015; harrydaposten.se, 13 Jan 2016)

Her mother encouraged her to try the pole vault. "We were at a competition all weekend, it was a Sunday night and mum was tired and wanted to go home.
