RETURN FROM PREGNANCY
She took some time away from the sport after becoming pregnant with her son Omaet Marcelo, who was born in 2018. "Going back to race walking was very tough because I began training weighing 72 kilograms [she normally weighs under 50 kilograms] and I didn't have any strength in my muscles. I remember suffering from cramps, muscle contractions, I had pain in my knees. I couldn't walk and my coach had to teach me new techniques.
