Injuries:

He injured his left knee in May 2019 after competing at the Asian Grand Prix event in Osaka, Japan. The injury prevented him from competing at the following Asian Grand Prix event in Chongqing, People's Republic of China in June 2019. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP STRUGGLE
He failed to progress from the heats at the 2019 World Championships in Doha, Qatar and believes the psychological impact of moving up from junior to senior level was a factor. "During the final 50 metres I felt tense. Initially in the first half we were all at the same position, but during that last 50 metres [US sprinter] Christian Coleman was at the front. I really wanted to catch up but I got tense. Perhaps it's more of a psychological factor. I already knew how strong the younger competitors were but, facing the seniors, I was tense.
