He suffered a groin injury during a meet in Finland a month before the 2015 World Championships in Beijing, People's Republic of China, but recovered in time to compete at the event. (atletika.cz, 27 Oct 2015)

RETURNING TO OLD WAYS
In 2019 he rejoined coach Petr Stehlik's training group after two years away. "I missed the group. Since [Czech shot putter] Ladislav Prasil left my club, I have been training for at least a year on my own. I've always trained in a group and suddenly I was alone.
