She seeks advice from her father, Zdenek Mezulianik, who represented Czechoslovakia and Czech Republic in cross-country, but has said the pair do not want to work together on a full-time basis. "When I arrive for races abroad, I will immediately write him an e-mail and we will discuss pace, tactics and other things. After my coach, he is the second person I call after a race. But I never wanted my dad to train me. He's a big supporter for me, but it wouldn't work as my coach. In every runner's life, there comes a time when they fail and their parents are disappointed. This is the biggest fear for every child. He doesn't want to get too involved in my running, but I reassure him that I am glad to have someone so close with whom I can talk about running."
