She did not run her first marathon until 2017. Part of the reason for her late development as an athlete is that she was bulimic for 10 years. "I was on a merry-go-round and I didn't know how to get off it. It was like that until I met my boyfriend, who taught me to look at life differently. He taught me to slow down, and that a nap after lunch is not a sin. What's more, he showed me that I don't have to fill every minute of my day. Last but not least, he taught me to love and, in particular, to love my life and to enjoy it. It took a while, a few years in fact, before I realised it and accepted it as my own.
