She began running cross-country at age seven, before shifting to sprint events at age 13 when she first received coaching. "There weren't too many coaches in my club, and when Nicolas Trouvat, a coach from the United States, arrived, he was doing sprints and hurdles. He set up a small team and it was really cool. "My brother and my sister were doing it, and as I was the youngest my parents put me in athletics too, because it was easier to make one car trip to take us there.
