General
NEW COACH
In late 2019 he decided to change coach and work with Libor Charfreitag. He had previously used Charfreitag as a consultant coach while training on his own ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. After the 2016 Games he trained with Polish multiple hammer world champion Pawel Fajdek and Fajdek's coach Jolanta Kumor before switching back to Charfreitag. "I want to do everything to be well prepared for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Therefore, I contacted Libor to ask him for help. I think that he is an ideal fit for me and my preparations. It's time for us to work together again. He accepted my request and I didn't have to convince him for long. It's amazing that we both see it as a great challenge. Libor is a great mentor and I can rely on him 100% in any situation. He has an immense amount of valuable experience that I can try to absorb. I also learnt a lot from Pawel [Fajdek] and I believe that our training will bear fruit and help me do better in Tokyo." COLLEGE CAREER
In December 2008 he moved to the United States of America to study and train there. He returned to Slovakia after graduating from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, VA, in December 2013. During his studies he won the 2009 National Collegiate Athletic Association [NCAA] Division I hammer title. (pravda.sk, 05 Aug 2014; hokiesports.com, 18 Jun 2009; mynitra.sme.sk, 12 Feb 2009)
