General Interest

General
MOROCCO TO BAHRAIN
He was born in Morocco and represented his country of birth before switching to compete for Bahrain in 2016. "The mother country, for me, is not just your country of birth but it is the source of hope and a bright future. It makes you look forward to realise your dreams. And these words apply perfectly to Bahrain, to which I'm thankful for believing in me and trusting my talent. This helps me to become stronger and determined to raise the flag higher." SANCTION
In December 2020 he was banned for two years and three months by the Athletics Integrity Unit [AIU] due to irregularities in his biological passport. The suspension was applied retrospectively from September 2018, which meant he was immediately eligible to begin competing again. The AIU also disqualified all of Mikhou's results from June 2016 to September 2018.
