Her father Soslan Marghiev was a hammer thrower who received the title of Master of Sport of International Class in athletics and became an Honoured Coach of Moldova. Her older sister Marina Marghieva-Nikisenko and her younger brother Serghei Marghiev have represented Moldova in hammer throw. Marina competed at four editions of the world championships between 2009 and 2017, while Serghei placed 16th at the 2019 World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
