2016 GAMES DISAPPOINTMENT
He was selected as a travelling reserve for the Turkey team ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and did not compete. The disappointment of missing out in Brazil fuelled his desire to be a full member of the team at Tokyo 2020. "When I returned [from Rio de Janeiro], my psychology was shattered and my dreams were destroyed. The more I thought of Rio, the more ambitious I became.
