FROM FOOTBALL TO HEPTATHLON
She focused primarily on football throughout her time at high school and university. While playing at high school she was named Colorado's Player of the Year in 2010, and went on to become a member of the first Texas A&M University women's football team to qualify for the National Collegiate Athletic Association [NCAA] Women's College Cup, as well as receiving 2014 Southeastern Conference [SEC] First Team honours. She switched focus to athletics in her final year of university. "I played soccer as well at university and did not dedicate all of my time to track and field until my fifth year when I qualified for the [2016] Olympic trials. Before then, I had focused most of my time on soccer as a team sport and did track and field when I could. DIET CHANGE
In late 2019 she credited the 'Paleo diet' with giving her a leaner physique. "I have become Paleo and totally changed how I eat and it's made such a difference. I eat fish, chicken or steak for breakfast or chicken sausages with nuts and fruit and, then, I stick to a high protein diet, eating throughout the day and snacking a lot. It's helped me become leaner, which makes a huge difference in the heptathlon." (BeondTV YouTube channel, 04 Sep 2019)
