In 2019 she parted ways with coach Giovan Delgado and relocated to Cuenca, Ecuador, where she started training with Ecuadorian race walker Andres Chocho. She made the decision after a disappointing performance at the 2019 World Championships in Doha, Qatar. "I searched for Andres so he could be my coach.
