STYLE CHANGE
She decided to switch her shot put technique from glide to rotational in 2019 after recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury to her left knee. She also lost 20 kilograms in five months following surgery for the injury. "It was the idea of my coach [Carlos Buron]. I had tried rotational some time ago and threw 15 metres. We tried it for two or three weeks but, as it was in the middle of the season, I didn't want to change everything up. This time though it was for real and I began with it in September 2019. My coach said, 'You just spin'. For me, though, it was like jumping into the void. Spinning is not one of my virtues and, at first, I lost my balance a bit and it was like learning to ride a bike again. But it's clear everything can be trained and it was a good change, for the better, that I'm very happy with."
