She practised sports as a hobby as an adult and realised she was getting better as an athlete. She then began training with Spanish coach Martin Fiz, who won gold in marathon at the 1995 World Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden. "I opted to take a chance. It was a time when I did not have an important job so I decided I wanted to do it seriously and reach my limit. That was when Martin Fiz came along. I love running and its feeling of freedom.
