General
ON THE LIMIT
She qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games at a competition in Castellon, Spain. She jumped exactly 6.82m [the lowest qualifying mark] on her sixth attempt [her final jump at the competition], with a wind of +2.0 [the maximum allowed]. "I knew I could jump 6.82 because I had jumped 6.75 before but I had not adjusted the board well, so on the last jump, I focused on it and it came out well. Participating at the Olympic Games is what every athlete wants in her life. Since I can remember, the Olympic Games has always been my main objective and achieving it this way makes me really happy." (superdeporte.es, 01 Jul 2021; lasprovincias.es, 29 Jun 2021)

STUDIES ON HOLD
She put her studies in nursing on hold in order to prepare for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "I only have the practical stage left, but I have stopped to focus on training. My colleagues finished just when the [COVID-19] pandemic started, and they went to work at the most complicated time. They told me they found it very difficult." (yosoynoticia.es, 26 Feb 2021)

BACKGROUND
She was born in Valencia, Spain, to Senegalese parents who had emigrated to Spain the year before she was born. (yosoynoticiaoficial Instagram profile, 25 Feb 2021)
