From 2014 to 2018 he had a number of problems with injuries which affected his hamstrings, back, hip, abductors and ankles. OLYMPIC GAMES POSTPONEMENT
He was relieved when the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo were postponed by 12 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as it gave him certainty to plan ahead. "It was very hard at the time when there was the uncertainty [on whether the Games would be postponed], and then it was a relief at the moment when it was finally said that the Games were moved, we were clear about things and we knew that the 2020 season would be dedicated to fixing technical and physical issues.
