After the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo were postponed, he brought forward a planned switched from the 5000m to running the marathon. "Running is my absolute passion, I train for myself and now just want to find out how far I can go in the marathon. If it doesn't work out as hoped, then so be it, but no one can put any pressure on me because I don't stress myself. I can always go back to the 5000m."
