In June 2017 she hyperextended her left knee while using a training machine. She tore her anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments and the lateral collateral ligament, ruptured the popliteus tendon and knee capsule, and damaged cartilage. OVERCOMING INJURY
While training on a machine designed to strengthen her knee muscles in June 2017, she hyperextended her knee, causing significant ligament, tendon and cartilage damage. Following an operation and rehabilitation on the joint, she would return to competition in June 2019. "I never thought of giving up. I opened a new chapter. Physically everything feels stable, the knee doesn't cause any problems, even if I can't bend it fully. This requires full concentration, especially when landing. In my head, I'm more focused and ambitious than before the injury. I know that I can jump far again."
