RETIREMENT PLAN
In 2020 he said that he intends to retire from competition after the 2022 World Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. "The world indoor championships in Belgrade will be a crown of my career, and if everything goes well and God gives me health I will compete in the final for my farewell. My physical shape and training isn't a problem, but it's more the mental aspect. It's important to be motivated, and I think that somehow my motivation has begun to decrease. I don't want to be remembered putting 18-19 metres. I want to end my career with a spot in the final, with a good result." (rts.rs, 16 Sep 2020)

COVID-19 IMPACT
In 2020 his training was affected after he contracted COVID-19, and close members of his family were hospitalised with the virus. "After coronavirus, I had problems getting into rhythm, and after a hard training session I needed two days of rest. You can't get in shape like that. I got off lightly. My parents were in the hospital for 15 days, my brother for 20. All that left a deep mark. I talked to doctors, pulmonologists, and they said that it takes at least six months for a person to recover fully." During the pandemic he helped by volunteering in Novi Pazar, Serbia, and also donated a respirator in Sjenica, Serbia. (rts.rs, 16 Sep 2020; nova.rs, 16 Jul 2020)
