She began practising athletics at Sigowet Primary School in Kipkelion, Kenya. At high school, she competed in the 5000m and the 3000m steeplechase before starting to run in half marathons after finishing her studies. She began competing in full marathons in 2017. (theeastafrican.co.ke, 29 Sep 2019)
