He used to play football with some friends who took up running and invited him to join them. "I first considered it like a game, something fun. I liked to run. I was restless, but then I began settling down and I took it more seriously. At the beginning I didn't want to run because I didn't like the small shorts. I ran my first race in long bottoms and a long-sleeve shirt. I finished second and received a medal. That's when I realised it would be easier to win a trophy by running than by playing football." General Interest

General
FINANCIAL MOTIVATION
He says his main motivation for competing is earning money for his family, and that finances dictate which competitions he enters. "I take it as a responsibility, because the financial situation of my family depends on how I'm doing in races. As long as I train well, I can run well and I can make some money. If I have good results I can pay all my family expenses. For me it's a job. It depends on the money and if I can get a profit after paying for a flight. If I won't, then I won't go. I'd rather stay at home and do some bricklaying that I know I will get paid for. Thanks to athletics I could get my house, improve it, get my car and travel. So far I'm doing fine. Once what I earn is not enough, then I will have to work on something else." (atletas.info, 03 Sep 2019)

FUTURE PLANS
He says he plans to complete World Athletics coaching courses and become an athletics coach at schools in the Chubut province in Argentina. "I want to be linked to sport, to develop young prospects." (atletas.info, 03 Sep 2019)
