General Interest

General
SECOND FATHER
She began working with coach Artem Rubanko in 2011 and describes him as a second father to her. "Artem Rubanko was a top international thrower for Ukraine. At first he did not want to coach me because he saw it as a big responsibility. Back then he was still competing himself, but he saw big potential in me and decided to be my coach in 2011. At that point few people believed that I had a future in the hammer, but I will always value the faith Artem showed in me because he always insisted I could excel in hammer. Over time he has made me stronger and improved my technique. But he is far more than a coach. He is also my psychologist and rehabilitation specialist. He has been like a second father to me. We have long had a good understanding." (worldathletics.org, 02 Sep 2017)

UKRAINE TO AZERBAIJAN
She previously represented Ukraine at international level, including at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. In 2015 she switched to compete for Azerbaijan and represented her new nation at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. (sportsmole.co.uk, 22 Jun 2015; SportsDeskOnline, 10 Aug 2019)

FURTHER EDUCATION
She has also studied at the National University of Physical Education and Sport in Kyiv, Ukraine, and at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sport in Baku, Azerbaijan. (Athlete, 18 Feb 2020)
