General Interest

General
HARD TIMES
She struggled with the death of her stepfather in March 2017, and said that it was only after she won gold at the 2018 World Indoor Championships in Birmingham, England, that she felt she had moved on. "The past two years have been difficult. My dad was battling with cancer and he passed away last year [2017]. I went into a depression, it was tough to train. It was hard to get my mojo back. But after going through the grieving process for almost a year I feel better and I can speak about him. I just went into this [world indoor championship] race, I prayed to him and God. It was like, 'finally', I was so happy and a world champion." (Nuffin' Long Athletics YouTube channel, 02 Mar 2018; abidjantv.net, 24 Mar 2017)

LIVING ABROAD
She moved from Cote d'Ivoire to France before she was age three. She has also lived in the People's Republic of China, Japan and Germany, and spent time living in Bristow, VA, United States of America, from age 14. (IAAF, 04 Mar 2014)
