She has been troubled by a hamstring injury since 2007. She underwent surgery on the problem in 2011, and two years later she started feeling a recurring pain. She sustained tears to her hamstring in 2014, 2017, and 2018, and in 2019 an MRI scan showed an inflammation in the hamstring tendon and the area around it, as well as a significant amount of scar tissue. She was troubled by eosinophilic esophagitis [EoE], a chronic allergic inflammatory condition, between 2006 and 2016. (Athlete, 28 Jul 2021)
She was diagnosed with Tietze syndrome, an inflammatory condition characterised by chest pain and swelling of the cartilage of one or more of the upper ribs.
