She says that her parents have had the biggest influence on her sporting career. Her father Giuliano serves as her coach and, like her mother Jawhara Saddougui, he competed as an elite level athlete. "I owe everything to my parents. Their teachings go beyond athletics. I have a great understanding with dad. One look is enough and we understand each other immediately. We also come into conflict on certain topics, but the fact that sometimes we have different points of view is more a weapon to our advantage rather than a limitation. One of the main teachings I have received from him is to follow your instincts and not think too much about the consequences. Mum, on the other hand, represents the emotional side more. She is a bit like my mental coach. I feel really good with her. We talk about everything and, when we are out and about together, we laugh and joke almost as if we were two sisters rather than mother and daughter. From her I learned to never give up and to continue to believe in my possibilities. Above all, she has made me understand that I have nothing less than any of my other opponents."
