General Interest

General
HEART SURGERY
In 2005 he was asked to undergo some tests in order to be eligible for a sports grant in Mexico. During the tests he was diagnosed with congenital Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, an anomaly in which the heart does not pump enough blood to the body and forces it to work irregularly. "I didn't realise about the symptoms. I used to shake and sweat but as I experienced them since birth I didn't link them to an anomaly. When I was told about it I realised I had always had those symptoms, but why I was only told about it at that moment? It was complicated to understand that part. The doctor explained to me that the risk might have been to faint or the heart might collapse. The cardiologist said that if I had practised a power discipline such as weightlifting or sprint running it might have been very dangerous as my heart would have collapsed." He underwent surgery immediately and so he could continue with his career. "Why should I undergo surgery and put in risk my career? Adversities like this are tests in order to really know if we are doing what we like the most." (jugadaprefabricada.com, 30 Jun 2020)

Once his sporting career is over he wants to open a gym alongside his brother in Chihuahua, Mexico. (marca.com, 29 May 2020)
