"I started out under the guidance of my father, who was an athlete, and he had the dream that I would become an athlete too. I was always running with friends in my neighbourhood. I actually began through a running try out because coaches spotted my speed. I used to play basketball and had good movement but my size didn't help. So I switched to athletics.
