NO MORE HALF BEARD
He has previously earned the nickname 'Halfshave' due to his habit of competing with half a beard, where he shaves the right side of his face but leaves the left side unshaven. But after competing at an event in Torun, Poland in February 2021 without his usual look, he explained the decision to change his facial hair style. "No half beard? It's because this year [2021] I'm trying to change all the habits and routines, I'm looking for something different inside of me." (oasport.it, 17 Feb 2021)

BASKETBALL RELIEF
He has played basketball since childhood, and regularly plays in the summer in his hometown. "Every year a few games does not take anything away from me. It is a relief valve that takes away the pressures that high-level sport puts on you. It relaxes me. I have been practising basketball since I was a child and therefore I avoid any type of situation that could create danger. I don't play to win, but to have fun and not get hurt." In 2019 he teamed up with Italian swimmer Greg Paltrinieri and basketballer Gigi Datome for a charity event in the coastal town of Cervia, with proceeds going to a pediatric hospital in Rome. "We recently went to Cervia for a day dedicated to sport with Greg Paltrinieri and Gigi Datome. We managed to combine three sports [high jump, swimming and basketball] to help those in need, especially children. We want to continue this initiative in future years."
