His cousin Erick Barrondo became the first athlete from Guatemala to win a medal at the Olympic Games when he claimed silver in the 20km race walk in 2012 in London. "Most the people know me as Erick's cousin, but I think I have worked to make my write my own story. I've worked so hard to go forward and to stand out, and not because I want to be better than anyone. I admire and respect Erick so much.
