She relocated from Burkina Faso to Mauritius after finishing high school in search of better facilities to train. She also studied sports management at the University of Mauritius. "I must say that being in Burkina, the conditions were really not favourable because I was training in Bobo-Dioulasso where the stadium did not meet the standards. There was a lack of sports equipment in certain disciplines, in particular hurdles and jumps. In addition, one of the difficulties was how to combine my studies with sport. At the time, since there weren't enough competitions, I could train for a year and only have four competitions. This discouraged me a bit, because sport requires a lot of resources and I didn't have all of that in Burkina. But as soon as I arrived in Mauritius, I saw that the conditions were favourable."
