Anastasiya Savchuk and Marta Fedina qualified for Tokyo through Ukraine's performance in the team event at the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju.

Both members will be making their debut in the duet competition in Tokyo, however, this will be Savchuk's second Olympic appearance after she was part of the Ukrainian team that finished fourth in the team event in Rio in 2016.

The pair won bronze in the free and technical routines at the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju, and backed up that performance to take silver in both routines at the 2020 European Championships, which were held in May 2021 in Budapest.
