Eden Blecher and Shelly Bobritsky secured their place at Tokyo 2020 through their performance at the Olympic qualifying tournament held in June 2021 in Barcelona. The pair finished sixth in Barcelona to secure Israel's fifth Olympic participation in the event.

Blecher and Bobritsky placed 18th and 19th in the free and technical routines, respectively, at the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju. At the 2020 European Championships in Budapest, which took place in May 2021, the pair finished eighth in both the free and technical routines.
