MENTORS
At age 17 he considered quitting the sport as people told him he was too old to the sport. At the time he was training at the High Performance Training Centre in Sant Cugat, Spain, where he met coaches and former gymnasts Gervasio Deferr and Victor Cano. "They both were my saviours, because at the time I was told I was too old at age 17-18 to practise gymnastics. Deferr was retiring at the time and becoming a coach. They both liked me, bet on me and here I am. They helped me to develop my basic training which I lacked in order to keep on going forwards. Without them I wouldn't be here." (sport.es, 11 Jul 2020)

MOVE TO SPAIN
Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, at age nine he moved to Lanzarote, Spain. (cronicasdelanzarote.es, 25 Jun 2018; elpais.com, 11 Jun 2015)
