At the 2019 World Cup event in Baku, Azerbaijan, she competed wearing a unitard. "I wanted to try something new. Many gymnasts in acrobatic and rhythmic gymnastics compete [in unitards]. It is allowed [in artistic gymnastics], but no one does it. Since I'm training in a Muslim country, I wanted to attract girls to gymnastics classes. I often hear that parents take girls out of gymnastics classes because of leotards and it's a pity that they leave. You can change the uniform, you can adapt it for yourself, it's allowed, so you can train and try. I hope that I managed to show that." (eng.gymnovosti.com, 12 Apr 2019)

FROM THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION TO AZERBAIJAN
Born in Voronezh, Russian Federation, she began competing for Azerbaijan in 2013. "I was about to end my career, to work as a children's coach, to train kids, and suddenly a proposal from the Azerbaijani national team came completely unexpectedly. I agreed without hesitation, almost immediately, because this offer promised me the fulfilment of my old dream to compete at the Olympic Games."
