General Interest

General
Chinese Taipei are making their seventh Olympic appearance at the 2020 Games. They booked their ticket to Tokyo 2020 by progressing to the quarterfinals at the 2019 World Championships in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.

Chinese Taipei's only Olympic medal is a silver from the 2004 Games in Athens, where they were beaten in the final by the Republic of Korea. At London 2012 and Rio 2016, Chinese Taipei were eliminated in the first knockout round.

The Chinese Taipei team were ranked eighth at the 2019 World Championships after suffering a 6-0 defeat to eventual runners-up, India, in the quarterfinals. Chinese Taipei's best showings at the world championships are the bronze medals they won in 2007 and 2015.

Chinese Taipei are the reigning Asian Games champions having overcome eight-time winners, the Republic of Korea, in the final in Indonesia in 2018.
