He suffered from the flu and a shoulder injury during the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which affected his ability to train during the competition. He went on to win a gold medal in the men's team recurve event, and silver medals in the individual and mixed team recurve events at the Games.
