In February 2020 his bow was stolen after thieves broke into his training venue, Compagnia Arcieri DLF Voghera in Italy. He made an appeal through social media, and the following month the equipment was returned to him. "It's the bow I plan to use [at the 2020 Olympic Games] in Tokyo. Everything is personalised so they could not sell it. Although it was slightly stripped, there was no structural damage. I can use it again. Now I can start again."
