General Interest

General
The Mongolian women's 3x3 basketball team made history as the first Mongolians to qualify for a team sport at the Olympic Games when they secured a spot for the 2020 Games in Tokyo through the world rankings list.

Mongolia's best results have come at the Asia Cup, where they finished as runners-up behind India in 2013 and placed fourth in 2019 after losing the third place match to Japan. The team made their World Cup debut in 2019 in Amsterdam but lost all four of their group matches against Spain, Romania, Czech Republic and Islamic Republic of Iran to finish ranked 17th overall. At the 2018 Asian Games, where 3x3 basketball was part of the programme for the first time, Mongolia finished third in their group behind Japan and Chinese Taipei following a lone win against Nepal, and did not progress to the quarterfinals.
