September 2014: Ligament injury in her right ankle, which required one month of rehabilitation.
Began skating after her aunt gave her a pair of roller skates at age eight. She was later accepted into an amateur sport school in Karamay, to train for speed skating. In 2010, she won four lower-level races at a regional competition, catching the eye of local speed skating coach Liu Yanfei (CHN), who recommended Tian join the Xinjiang speed skating team.
