General Interest

AMATEUR OLYMPIAN
After brief stint with professional team Jumbo-Visma, where she over-trained, she joined regional team Gewest Friesland, where she has to pay an annual fee to skate. Still a student, she had part-time jobs serving in a sushi restaurant and assisting in a COVID-19 vaccination centre,, although she quit those roles prior to the the 2021/22 season. Despite having a three-year master plan called "Road to Beijing", which she presented to potential sponsors, she was shocked to qualify for the 5000m at the Dutch Olympic Trials, beating Olympic 3000m champion Carlijn Achtereekte by 0.03 seconds.
