Father Marcel Scheperkamp (Speed skating): Former national youth champion. Competed in the 1979 Junior World Championships. Finished eighth in the 1981 Dutch Allround Championships.

Inline speed skating: Bronze medallist in the combined at the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games. Silver medallist at the 2019 European Championships in Pamplona, in the team sprint (track). Won multiple medals at the Junior World and European Championships.

DEVELOPMENT TEAM SURPRISE
Although he is only a member of the development team of his sponsor's skating team, he pulled a big upset at the Dutch Olympic Trials. Having only made his World Cup debut earlier in the year, he posted the fastest race of the day, beating out his more experienced teammate, Dai Dai N'tab. "I only thought about myself and what to do.
