General Interest

NATIONALITY
Born in Oxfordshire to a British mother and a Dutch father, moving to Harlingen (NED) at age eight. “People often think I went for the easy option because I chose to represent Great Britain, but I still have to compete at the same level at the same competitions”. (Schaatsseizoen 48, 2020; switchtheplay.com, 2021)

OLYMPIC FUNDING
Together with her partner, she founded a coffee company called Brew'22, as a means to supplement funding for their travel and training. The idea for the company arose due to the difficulty of finding good coffee while abroad for competition or training. "Whilst in Japan, we came across an innovative product, a single cup filter which enabled us to choose our own coffee bean, grind it and therefore travel with our own coffee." Their coffee flavours include Trailblazer, Underdog, Powerhouse, Dreamcatcher and One of a Kind. (brew22.com, 2021)

VOLUNTEER
In 2016, she volunteered at the small Indonesian island of Nusa Penida to care for endangered sea turtles and clear the beach of plastic and other contamination. (LinkedIn, 2021)
